Mood Board with Conceptual Color PaletteInspired by the vastness of the ocean and open sky, I incorporated ideas of relaxation and forward momentum through shape and color to emphasize the “Journey” concept.
Conceptual Materials ApplicationThe family area contains small luggage/backpack storage for visitors, a fold-down sleeper couch with an adjustable center table, and a patient wardrobe.

Final Rendering - From EntryThe lowered ceiling above the patient area is up-lit to provide soft night-time ambient lighting. Lightbox clerestory windows above for clinical control of daylighting exposure.Examination light is integrated into the headwall boom. floor and ceiling finishes direct the patient to the restroom and give a clear line of sight to the family zone, communication area, windows, and clinical area.
Overall RenderingThe patient recliner has a foldable arm for easy transfer, and an IV stand for use as a wheelchair. The clinical area features a mobile charting station, integrated space for soiled linens, integrated wastebasket with countertop access, glove and paper napkin dispensers, and supply storage above.
